Service Description
Level 1: Stroke Introduction (ages 5-14): For beginners who enjoy water but lack independent swimming skills. Focus on basic swimming skills and water safety. Swim skills such as independent floating, basic stroke introduction, and swim-roll-swim technique. Emphasize independent movement, submersion, basic swim skills, and elementary backstroke and water safety. Class Details: Dates: Sundays March 2nd - April 13th, 2025 (7 consecutive weeks) Duration: 45-minute lessons Location: Acton-Boxborough Regional High School Pool, 36 Charter Rd, Acton, MA 01720 Class Structure: Swimmers will be evaluated on the first day to ensure proper placement based on age and ability. Cancellations: Notifications for weather-related cancellations will be sent via email. Make-Up Classes: Only provided for lessons canceled by Discover H2O (e.g., power outage, snowstorm). No refunds or make-ups for personal absences unless due to illness/injury with a doctor’s note (credit may be applied to a future session). Refunds: Full refunds are available for cancellations made 7+ days before the session starts. After the session begins, refunds are granted at the director’s discretion. Payment Policies: Payment is due at the start of the first lesson. Accepted methods include cash, check, credit card, or Venmo (@discoverh2o). Financial Aid: Available for those who qualify. Finances should never be a barrier to learning to swim at Discover H2O.
Cancellation Policy
Registration: All participants must complete the online registration process before attending any lessons. Registration is based on class availability, and spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Any changes to the registration or class schedule must be approved by DiscoverH2O’s Aquatics Director. Payment and Refunds: Payment is due at the start of the lesson. We accept cash, credit/debit cards, checks, or Venmo @discoverh2o. Refund Policy: A full refund will be provided if a session is canceled by DiscoverH2O before the start of the program. No refunds or credits will be issued once the session has begun. In the event of illness or injury, a doctor’s note must be provided to request a refund, credit, or transfer to another session. Make-Up Policy: Make-up classes for missed lessons are only offered when a class is canceled by DiscoverH2O due to inclement weather or instructor absence. No make-ups are available for missed classes due to personal scheduling conflicts. Any make-up class offered must be attended within the current session; no rollover of missed classes to future sessions.
