DiscoverH2O Learn to Swim Program at Greater Lowell Technical High School!

We are excited to announce that our Learn to Swim Program is expanding to Greater Lowell Technical High School! Join us for our upcoming Fall and Spring sessions, offering an 8-week program designed to build water confidence and enhance swimming skills for all ages.

Session Details:

  • Days: Wednesdays and Fridays

  • Time: 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM

  • Duration: October - November (Spring Session TBD)

  • Registration: Coming soon—stay tuned for details!

Program Overview:

Preschool Lessons (Ages 3-5 Years):

  • Focus on basic swim skills with support and flotation devices.

  • Emphasis on submersion, back float, and swimming on front and back.

Youth Lessons (Ages 5-14 Years):

  • Level 1: Beginner - Water Acclimation

    • Objective: Build basic water comfort and essential swim skills.

    • Skills include introduction to water safety, floating, simple kicking, arm movements, and comfort with face submersion.

  • Level 2: Novice - Stroke Introduction

    • Objective: Swim 10 feet on front and back without flotation.

    • Skills include front and back float, basic freestyle, backstroke, and introduction to gliding.

  • Level 3: Intermediate - Stroke Improvement

    • Objective: Swim 15 feet of freestyle with rotary breathing and backstroke.

    • Skills include improved freestyle, backstroke, and basic breaststroke and butterfly movements.

  • Level 4: Proficient - Stroke Refinement

    • Objective: Swim 25 yards of freestyle and backstroke; introduction to breaststroke and butterfly.

    • Skills include refined techniques, introduction to flip turns, and basic starts.

  • Levels 5-6: Advanced - Intro to Competitive Swimming

    • Objective: Swim 50 yards of freestyle, backstroke, and 25 yards of butterfly and breaststroke.

    • Skills include mastery of all four competitive strokes, Individual Medley (IM), endurance training, and advanced techniques for starts, turns, and finishes.
